GOOGLE ARNULFPOST, MÜNCHEN
The former Munich parcel delivery office on Arnulfstraße is being transformed by the tech company Google into a modern inner-city development center. In the historic Arnulfpost complex, located between Arnulfstraße, Wredestraße, and Tillystraße, workplaces for around 1,500 employees will be created in the future.
The project site originally offered little green space and virtually no ecological value. Therefore, the Animal-Aided Design Studio was commissioned as an ecological consulting partner to develop a wildlife-friendly design for the project area. The development of an AAD concept aims to support local biodiversity and existing ecosystems while simultaneously contributing to human well-being.
By applying the AAD method, SAAD was able to identify target species and develop design measures such as planting concepts for the Arnulfpost. These measures primarily concern the roofs and open spaces, but ideas were also developed for the facades to enhance local biodiversity.
